Control rod
Description
The present invention concerns a control rod for conducting startup, shutdown and power control of an FBR type reactor. In an annular type control rod, coolants flow channels are disposed not only to the inside but also to the outer side of the control rod element and a plurality of control rod elements are contained in a protection tube. On the other hand, a honeycomb type control rod contains a control rod element in which a number of coolants flow channels are formed by filling neutron absorbers in a cladding tube. Coolants flow holes are disposed at both upper and lower end plugs or the upper and the lower portions of the cladding tube in each of the cases. With such a constitution, neutron absorbers can be cooled efficiently by the coolants. Accordingly, the amount of the neutron absorbers to be filled can be increased, to extend the life time. (I.N.)
