P538 extraction-ICP-AES determination of rare earth-impurities in high-purity CeO/sub 2/
Description
High performance extractant P538 was used to separate CeO/sub 2/ and the RE-impurities were detected by using ICP-AES of the Model JY 38P. The detection limit of the total of fourteen RE elements was 3.6 ppm. This paper studies the effects of power input, efficiency of separation and impurities other than REs on the performance of the system. Results show that the precision m=12%, and the deviation of accuracy is lower than 15%. The CeO/sub 2/ was dissolved in HNO/sub 3/ and the aqueous solution was extracted twice by P538-Benzol. The latter should be removed from the aqueous solution as completely as possible, or the measurement accuracy would be impaired. The results are tabulated
