The influence of mode on reproduction on the quantitative parameters of embryogenesis in specimen from laboratory strains of pond snail Lymnaea Stagnalis, originating from their populations from water bodies in zone of the Chernobyl nuclear accident

  • 1. International A. Sakharov environmental univ., Minsk (Belarus)

Description

The mode of reproduction does not influence significantly on the embryonic longevity and survival in egg masses of L.stagnalis. Embryonic survival in egg masses from cross-fertilization produced by specimen from Pripyat River was lower than in those from Perstok Lake despite the fact that the level or radioactive contamination in the last water body was much higher.
