Description
Magnetostriction processes in Ce(Fe1-xAlx)2 systems have been measured by means of a capacitance method in pulsed high magnetic fields up to 300 kOe. A discontinuous increase in the volume was found at the metamagnetic transition from an antiferromagnetic state to a ferromagnetic one, in the low temperature regime. This transition was attributed to be a lattice distortion. (orig.)
