Development of a mobile hot cell for the conditioning of low activity spent radioactive sources

Description
Based on an introduction to the conditioning process, sealing methods and container designs, a mobile hot cell for the conditioning of low activity spent radioactive sources (LASRS) was developed as well as relevant capsules and containers used for the conditioning and storage. A pilot operation with spent 60Co and 137Cs sources demonstrated that this facility is professional, accessible and reliable, and can be used for the conditioning of LASRS. (authors)
