The constant stress tensile creep characteristics of a superplastic zirconia-20% alumina composite
Description
Most experimental investigations on large superplastic deformation in ceramics have been restricted to strain rates >10-5 s-1. This study was undertaken to explore the constant stress tensile creep behavior of a fine grained superplastic yttria stabilized zirconia-20 wt% alumina composite at strain rates in the range of ∼10-8 to 10-4 s-1 and at temperatures between ∼1,600 and 1,750K. The design of the creep machine is described, and the experimental results are presented together with an appropriate comparison with theories for creep deformation
