π+-,p - nucleus interactions around several GeV

Recently new experimental data for high energy hadron-nucleus interactions have been increasing rapidly, and they are attracting the interests of high energy physicists. Here we review briefly the new data in relation to our plan for the experiment of π--nucleus interactions using KEK 1m bubble chamber. We confine our discussions to the following four themes; a) large p sub(t) production, b) high energy particles produced backward in the lab. system, c) correlations of nucleons in the nucleus, d) coherent production of particles due to nuclear Coulomb field.
