Observation of the first member of the doubly-decoupled band in the 182Ir odd-odd nucleus

  • 2. Dept. de Fisica, Comision Nacional de Energia Atomica, Buenos Aires (Argentina)

Description

Internal conversion electrons of low-energy transitions in 182Ir have been measured with high resolution. Multipolarities of 27 transitions have been precisely determined. The spin and parity values of the 182Ir ground state are found to be Iπ = 3+. The 25.7 keV E2 transition, the first member of the doubly-decoupled band built on the ground state, is clearly observed.
