Cytogenetic study of 162 leukemic patients exposed to atomic bomb

  • 1. Hiroshima Univ. (Japan). Research Inst. for Nuclear Medicine and Biology

Description

Chromosome findings were compared in atomic bomb-exposed and non-exposed leukemic patients. Chromosome aberrations were more frequently observed in acute non-lymphatic leukemic patients exposed to atomic bomb within 1 km than in non-exposed patients with a significant difference. In cases of chronic myelocytic leukemia, there was no significant difference in the incidence of chromosome aberrations between atomic bomb exposed patients and non-exposed patients. (Namekawa, K.)
