Recent developments in vacuum breakdown and discharge physics relevant to accelerator tube design

  • 1. Liverpool Univ. (UK). Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Electronics

Description

Recent developments in vacuum breakdown and related phenomena important to high voltage dc accelerator tube design are reviewed. Particular, attention is paid to papers presented at the Tenth International Symposium on Discharges and Electrical Insulation, held in Columbia S.C. in October 1982. Topics covered include pulsed field emission problems, microparticle detection, microdischarges and surface flashover at high pulsed fields. (orig.)
