Description
Newly modified tritium autoradiography, where an Al-3%Li alloy was charged with tritium during melting and casting process, have revealed that impurity hydrogen is actually present at the interfaces between the grain boundary precipitates and the matrix in the peak-aged specimen. Hydrogen is detectable on the intergranular fracture surface, suggesting that the hydrogen is stable at the interface, presumably forming hydrides. (orig.)
