Determination of parathormone by RIA in different age groups
Description
Using RIA technique for determination of the carboxyl-terminal fragments of serum parthiroid hormone (PTH), a significant rise of serum PTH was observed with age increase in 119 normal subjects, (62 Male and 57 Female) ranging from 30 to 83 years. This significant rise in serum PTH may explain the pathogenesis of senile and postmenopausal osteoporosis
