Generalised t-J models on a chain as a substitute for planar systems
Description
One-dimensional t-J and related models show essentially different behavior of holes as compared to planar strongly correlated systems. We show that on a chain an addition of longer range spin exchange recoveres some essential ingredients of d=2 systems. It leads to a strong mass enhancement for a single hole as well as to the hole binding and possible pairing at much reduced J/t. (orig.)
