Experimental study of the dominant channels for the Ti isotopes + 13C reactions. Comparisons with the evaporation programs

Description

In chapter I we recall the foundations of the statistical theory and the validity of the hypotheses in the Hauser-Feshbach formalism. This theory is interpreted in several so called evaporation codes. We describe the Julian program using a method of calculation (Monte Carlo) which enables inexpensive predictions to be made as against the conventional programs, for determining the dominant channels of the reaction. In chapter II we describe the methodology which makes it possible to pass from γ spectra to relative then absolute cross-sections. The possibilities and also the difficulties of this method are analyzed. In chapter III we present a set of experimental results obtained by the methodology described: reactions of the beam of 13C at 36, 46 and 56 MeV on the Ti isotopes (46, 47, 48, 49 and 50) and, in each case, seeking the dominant channels. This set is intended for preparing our future spectroscopy experiments in the fp shell, test the validity of the statistical theory interpreted in the Julian code. In chapter IV we compare the results of the Julian calculation with our experimental results and we had to compare different evaporation codes

Abstract (French)

Dans le chapitre I nous rappelons les fondements de la theorie statistique, la validite des hypotheses dans le formalisme de Hauser-Feshbach. Cette theorie est traduite dans plusieurs codes dits d'evaporation. Nous decrivons le programme JULIAN utilisant une methode de calcul (Monte Carlo) qui permet d'effectuer des previsions peu couteuses contrairement aux programmes 'classiques', pour situer la ou les voies dominantes de la reaction. Dans le chapitre II nous decrivons la methodologie qui permet de passer de spectres γ a des sections efficaces relatives puis absolues. La puissance mais aussi les difficultes de cette methode sont analysees. Dans le chapitre III nous presentons un ensemble de resultats experimentaux obtenus par la methodologie decrite: reactions du faisceau de 13C a 36, 46 et 56 MeV sur tous les isotopes du Ti (46, 47, 48, 49 et 50) et recherche dans chaque cas des voies dominantes. Cet ensemble est destine: a preparer nos experiences futures de spectroscopie dans la couche fp; a tester la validite de la theorie statistique traduite dans le code JULIAN. Dans le chapitre IV nous confrontons les resultats du calcul de JULIAN a nos resultats experimentaux. Nous avons ete amenes a comparer differents codes d'evaporation
