X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy study for Pt-Sn/γ-Al2O3 catalysts

Description
The paper presents the methods which applied XPS of the characterization of the chemical states of Pt-Sn/γ-Al2O3 catalysts. It was shown that the best mounting method of powder catalyst is to compress the powders as a tablet on an aluminium foil, which can obtain a better signal/noise ratio and resolution of the spectrum. Using Al(Kα) excitation source can avoid the interference in the region of Sn(3d5/2). The correction of the charge shift is achieved by both using neutralizer and an internal standard of Al(2p) binding energy
