Production techniques for measuring SSC accelerator magnets

Creators

Description

Plans for the formidable task of measuring SSC accelerator magnets are reviewed. The focus is on measurements of the dipoles for the two collider rings. The magnitude of the job is summarized. The required accuracy of the measurements is discussed in terms of SSC accelerator requirements and expected magnet production tolerances. The measuring system which will be used for the first 16.6 m SSC dipoles is described
