From the First NPP to nuclear power facilities of the IV generation (on the 60th anniversary of the world's First NPP)

Description
The AM reactor of the first world's NPP (1957-2002) was one of the reactor bases where neutron investigations were conducted as well as investigations on solid-state physics, testing of fuel elements and electric generating channels, isotope production. Under scientific supervision of the Institute for Physics and Power Engineering more than 120 projects of various nuclear power facilities were created; scientific, engineering and technological schools were organized in the field of nuclear physics of low and intermediate energies, electrostatic multicharged ion accelerators, plasma processes in thermoionic transducers and nuclear pumped lasers, physics of small-sized nuclear reactors and radiation safety, thermophysics, physical chemistry and technology of liquid metal coolants, physics of radiation damages and radiation material science. Works on large-scale atomic engineering on the base of closed fuel cycle with fast reactors are in progress

Реактор АМ Первой в мире АЭС (1954-2002) был одной из реакторных баз, на которых проводились нейтронно-физические исследования, исследования по физике твердого тела, испытания твэлов, электрогенерирующих каналов, наработка изотопной продукции. Под научным руководством Физико-энергетического института создано более 120 проектов различных ядерных энергетических установок; организованы научные, инженерные и технологические школы в области ядерной физики низких и промежуточных энергий, электростатических ускорителей многозарядных ионов, плазменных процессов в термоэмиссионных преобразователях и лазерах с ядерной накачкой, физики малогабаритных ядерных реакторов и радиационной защиты, теплофизики, физической химии и технологии жидкометаллических теплоносителей, физики радиационных повреждений и радиационного материаловедения.
