Description
The state of polymerization of pentacosa-10,12-diynoic acid (12-8 diacetylene) in the form of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) multilayer films against both gamma and UV radiation has been studied. The response was investigated by observing the changes in optical transmission at a number of different wavelengths following irradiation. The motivation for the work was provided by the possibility that LB films could function as a radiation dosimeter system in the dose range of interest to the radiation processing industry. (orig.)
