Guarantee of shutdown
Description
The paper describes the reactivity behavior of light water reactors as well as the measures and systems for reactivity control and safe shutdown of these reactors. The reactor core and the systems for reactivity control and reactor shutdown are designed in such a way that in each case the excess reactivity present will be bound and the reactor may be made subcritical resp. cold and cold subcritical with the necessary shutdown reactivity also in case of accidents. Because of the negative reactivity coefficient, the reactor becomes inherently stable. At the same time, they support the equipment for reactivity control and shutdown. (orig./HP)

Die Ausfuehrungen beschreiben das Reaktivitaetsverhalten des Leichtwasserreaktors sowie die Massnahmen und Einrichtungen zur Regelung der Reaktivitaet und zur sicheren Abschaltung des Reaktors. Der Reaktorkern sowie die Einrichtungen zur Reaktivitaetskontrolle und zum Abschalten des Reaktors sind so ausgelegt, dass die jeweils vorhandene Ueberschussreaktivitaet gebunden wird und der Reaktor auch bei Stoerfaellen mit der erforderlichen Abschaltreaktivitaet unterkritisch bzw. kalt und kalt-unterkritisch gefahren werden kann. Durch die negativen Reaktivitaetskoeffizienten wird der Reaktor inhaerent stabil. Sie unterstuetzen gleichzeitig die Einrichtungen zur Reaktivitaetskontrolle und Abschaltung. (orig./HP)
