Extremal dependence of activated process rate on temperature and partial oxygen pressure in gas environment
- 1. Moskovskij Inst. Stali i Splavov, Moscow (Russian Federation)
Description
Main reasons for decreasing the tungsten and rhenium oxidation rate with temperature increase are established. It is shown that the extremal temperature dependence of the tungsten oxidation rate, unlike rhenium, is explained within the framework of classical kinetics representations on the activation process of high-temperature oxidation of metals. In the representations is accounted for decreasing the motive force with temperature increase. A mechanism is proposed for established substantial specific increase of the rhenium diminution rate at temperatures more 1500 deg C with decreasing oxygen partial pressure in a gas medium. 14 refs., 4 figs
