Response of containment structures to air blast
Description
The most damaging effects, produced by explosive detonations in the close proximity of containment and shield structures, are usually the result of air blast loading. For credible charge weights the air blast durations are short (a few ms) and the loading is impulsive. Since the high pressure region affects only a small portion of the structure the loading is local and locally flat wall approximation is reasonable. (orig.)
