On the quantization of nonlinear sigma-models
Description
The O(N) nonlinear sigma-model is investigated in the projection operator formalism of the constrained systems. It is shown that the resulting commutators among the canonical variables are the quantized forms of the Dirac brackets, in which the order of the operators is correctly taken into account. The equations of motion for the field operators, in which there arise the additional terms corresponding to the extra potential-like terms discussed in the nonlinear field theory can be further obtained
