Results of the periodic inspection of Tokai No. 2 Power Station, the Japan Atomic Power Co., in 1979 fiscal year
Description
The periodic inspection of Tokai No. 2 Power Station in 1979 fiscal year was carried out from September 7, 1979, to January 18, 1980, for the first time. The results of inspection are outlined as follows. Abnormality was not observed at all in the general inspection. The exposure dose of the workers during this periodic inspection period is shown, and all the inspection works were accomplished within the dose value specified by the relevant law. The works carried out during this periodic inspection were as follows. It is planned to disassemble and check up all control rod-driving mechanisms in five years, and 37 of them were exchanged this time. 38 detector assemblies in the output region instrumentation were replaced. High frequency heating treatment was applied to the austenitic stainless steel welded parts in coolant-purifying system pipes as the countermeasure to stress corrosion cracking. 218 reserve valves were removed, and the pipes were closed by welding. The soundness of remaining reserve valves was confirmed. This is the report made by the Agency of Natural Resources and Energy in April, 1980. (Kako, I.)
