Description
Recently, investigations of methods of control of concentrations of radon and its progeny have been performed in an active coal mine. The investigations have been concentrated mainly on following problems: -influence of changes in the ventilation network on radon and radon daughters concentration, - the efficiency of sealing of gobs in reduction of radon and its progeny concentration in mine atmospheres on work places, - development of effective and efficient methods of filtration of air for removal of radioactive aerosols. It has been proved that these methods may be effective in prevention as well as in reduction of the radiation hazard caused by radon progeny on work place. Examples of practical application of methods mentioned above are described. (author). 15 refs, 1 tab., 5 figs
