2.6. Programmed synthesis of lanthanide borohydrides with autoinitiation

Creators

Description

Complex metal borohydrides Mn(BH4)n are widely used in many areas of modern chemistry and chemical technology. They are used as hydrogen sources, active reducing agents and catalysts in polymerisation processes, transformation of functional groups of organic compounds. Significant energy intensity determines the possibility of using metal borohydrides as components of solid rocket fuel. The formation of double complex borohydride of MLn(BH4)4 type was found during the construction of solubility isotherm of systems (where - lanthanides of yttrium subgroup, tetrahydrofuran). In this chapter, the programmed synthesis of lithium aluminium hydrides, aluminium hydride and lanthanide borohydrides was designed and carried out. Programmed synthesis with autoinitiation allows to expand the raw material base, providing an opportunity to automate the process of obtaining energy-intensive substances.
