Marinelli beaker calibration
Description
The calibration of gamma spectroscopy detectors for analysis of samples in Marinelli beakers is discussed with regard to what constitutes a calibration standard and difference from a point source. Sorption effects are energy dependent and can cause errors of 20 percent or more. True coincidence summing effects can totally misalign detector efficiency, depending on the nuclides contained in the standard
