Use of the Computerized tomography in the analysis of petrophysics properties

Description

This work shows so me qualitative and quantitative results of porosity and saturation tests, as well as of analysis of images. In this study several tests using different types of samples, such as: packing of glass capillaries, sand packing and cores of Berea formation. Methodologically the first step was to found their pos se of the technique to some pre-established parameters in the case of the packing. Then analyses in samples of Berea formation, which have a greater degree of heterogeneity, were made. The results obtained in that way were compared with, those found conventionally. From qualitative point of view, it was possible to conclude that it is necessary that the rock characteristics are sufficiently evident in order to be accurately differentiated. in addition, it was verified that the white or black zones correspond to zones of high or low density. the quantitative results of porosity and saturation defer between 2 and a 7% from those found using conventional methods. To determine pore size, an empirical that allows determining this parameter as a function of porosity values is proposed
