Benzene and hydrogen interaction on Pt supported by NaY zeolite and silica, studied by 14C labelled compounds

Description
By means of 14C labelled benzene it is shown that its adsorption takes place not only on the metal but also on its zeolitic support. This adsorbed benzene does not desorb under helium flow, but it is readily exchanged by sweeping with a gaseous phase containing non-labelled benzene. This exchange between molecules is sufficiently fast to implicate participation of all the platinum particles dispersed in zeolite grain, in the catalytic reaction

L'emploi de benzene marque au 14C a permis de montrer que le support zeolithique NaY participe a l'adsorption du benzene. Ce benzene adsorbe, non desorbable sous courant d'helium, est rapidement echange par du benzene non marque provenant de la phase gazeuse.
