Swedish environmental policy on utilization of by-products from fuel production
Description
Environmental aspects of waste product utilization are discussed with an emphasis on by-products from fuel combustion. The strategy should be an integrated approach to the production, management and fate of waste products with regard to environmental protection as well as conservation of natural resources. To pursue the goal of sustainable development much effort is put on defining limits of tolerance for man and the environment (critical concentrations, critical loads). The disposal and utilization of waste products must comply with environmental goals. An administrative system has to be developed using different test methods to classify residuals and to evaluate environmental effects. 2 tabs
