The combined effect of nuclear radiation and copper sulfate on agricultural plants

  • 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)

Description

A study was made of the combined effect of nuclear radiation and copper sulfate, delivered within a wide range of doses and concentrations, on seedlings and seeds of pea and barley plants. It was shown that the resulting effect was determined by combinations of doses and concentrations and, as a consequence, correspond to different types of interactions of the two factors. The effect of low copper concentrations may be considered as a radioprotective one for the plants exposed to sublethal radiation doses
