Description
The recommendation of the German SSK (radiation protection commission) covers two instruction sheets, one intended for the population, the other for medical personnel. The instructions refer to the application of iodine tablets for protection of the thyroid after a nuclear emergency and address all medical aspects as well as administrative and legal aspects. The full texts of the instruction sheets are reproduced. (CB)

Die Empfehlung der SSK besteht aus zwei Merkblaettern, wovon sich eines an die Bevoelkerung richtet, das andere ein Merkblatt fuer Aerzte ist. Die Information und die Anweisungen beziehen sich auf alle Aspekte, die im Falle eines Strahlenunfalls mit Freisetzung von radioaktivem Jod zu beachten sind.
