Description

Recent observations of the term structure in Ne-like and F-like ions are discussed in this article. Experimental studies of resonance lines in Ni-like and F-like ions have in recent years been extended to very high values of Z. The analyses of n=3, Δn=0 transitions in Ne-like ions now include Cu XX, Kr XXVII and Sr XXIX. Similar data exist for F-like ions up to Cu XXI. The n=4 structure in Ne-like ions has now been investigated up to Mn XVI. In a few Ne-like ions also the hydrogen-like configurations have been investigated in detail. (orig.)
