Description

A Korteweg-de Vries equation is derived of the transverse magnetic mode of the plasma surface wave propagating on the interface between a plasma and a vacuum by reducing the nonlinear wave equation to a nonlinear Boussinesq equation. The nonlinearity is due to the electromagnetic ponderomotive force
