Histomorphometric examination of cortical bone remodelling parameters in young and old beagles

Description

Multiple, in vivo labelling of bone in 1-2 year old and 13-14 year old beagles has been initiated. The variation of radial apposition rates as a function of label diameter was found to be similar in both young and old dogs. The range is 0.2 to 2.2 μm/day, and are highly dependent on the diameter of the outermost label. 3 references, 3 figures
