Description

Charge exchange reactions at intermediate energies are discussed. For (3He,t) reactions a shift, changing with momentum transfer, of the quasielastic peak is observed relative to the electron scattering data. This shift is related to the shift of the Δ-peak in nuclei, also seen in (3He,t) experiments. The (d,2He) reaction with a tensor polarized beam is shown to be a very interesting probe of spin correlations in nuclei, but also of the spin structure of the Δ excitation. Results from charge exchange reactions with heavy ions are briefly discussed
