Kinetics of platinum catalyst of cylindrical shape (Al2O3 + 1% Pt, (2-3) mm) based on porous granulated aluminum oxide

Aluminum oxide is used as a catalyst carrier in the processes of fuel hydro desulfurization, reforming, isomerization. As an adsorbent, aluminum oxide is widely used for gas dehydration. Platinum catalysts are the most active systems in the hydrogen oxidation reaction and can be used in a wide range of temperatures, including in the cracking area. Platinum metals, compounds and materials based on them (alloys, catalysts, powders, oxide films) combine unique physical and chemical properties. The use of catalysts for exhaust gases of internal combustion engines containing platinum group metals in transport is the main direction of reducing environmentally harmful emissions. The purpose of this work is to determine the change in mass of an object, taking into account moisture absorption, depending on time. To study the kinetics of catalyst, an experimental setup developed by Professor M.M. Safarov and his students has been used. It has been defined that moisture absorption depends on the structure, physicochemical properties of the adsorbent. This article also presents the results of experimental studies of moisture absorption of aluminum oxide (1%) Pt + Al2O3 fraction (2-3) mm depending on time, distilled water was chosen as a humid medium. On the basis of an experimental study and the law of corresponding states, approximation dependences have been obtained. (author)
