Strontium-90 and cesium-137 in milk (powdered milk)
Description
Sr-90 and Cs-137 in powdered milk were determined using radiochemical analysis. Six brands of commercial milk were purchased as samples in consuming districts in November 1983. Milk in a stainless steel pan or a porcelain dish was evaporated to dryness followed by carbonization and ashing. The maximum values of Sr-90 and Cs-137 were 35.0 +- 1.4 pCi/kg and 160.0 +- 2.0 pCi/kg, respectively, in skim milk manufactured by Meiji. (Namekawa, K.)
