Application of individual plant evaluation methodology to the Grand Gulf nuclear station
Description
This paper describes the application of IDCOR Individual Plant Evaluation (IPE) methodology to the Grand Gulf nuclear station (GGNS) - a single unit 1250 MW(e) power plant with a General Electric BWR6 Boiling Water Reactor (BWR), located in Claiborne County, Mississippi, USA. The first objective of the GGNS IPE was to determine if any GGNS plant design features or procedures are vulnerable to severe accidents involving core damage. A second objective of the GGNS IPE was to test the specific applicability of the IPE methodology to BWR6 plants. (orig.)
