Isotopic study in the presence of benzene diluent by charge plate technique under (n,γ) process in n-butyl bromide
Description
In the present investigation we have used the charge plate technique for the isotopic study in the presence of benzene diluent under (n,γ) process in n-butyl bromide target, over a wide concentration range of the diluent. The target material was irradiated for 3 days with a 300 mC (Ra-α-Be) neutron source in each set of experiments. The recoil species were collected on Ag/AgBr electrodes by applying an electric field of 1050 V for 2.5 h. It is observed that increasing the amount of benzene diluent, the recoil collection decreases. Results are critically discussed and plausible mechanisms are suggested. (author)
