Investigation into dehydration of rare earth trimetaphosphate hydrates

Description
Dehydration of the hydrates of La, Ce, Pr, Nd and Eu trimetaphosphates has been studied by means of thermographic, thermogravimetric and differential thermobarometric analyses. WIth the help of PMR spectra, the state of water in the compounds obtained on heating is characterized. Dehydration of lanthanoid trimetaphosphate hydrates is shown to proceed with the amorphous polyphoshpates of varying degree of polymerization and the orthophosphoric acid being formed. In the case of La and Ce trimetaphosphates the amount of H3PO4 reaches 20%, and for Nd, Pr and Eu trimetaphosphates - approximately 1% H3PO4
