Bone scan indications in oncology

Description

The scintigraphic method is described and a critical analysis of its value in the research of bone metastases is presented. The method validity, the positivity of bone scan for metastases at the first examination and the preferencial distribution metastases in skeleton are related.Bone pain and the results of bone scintigram are correlated. Abstract (Portuguese)

Apresenta-se estudo sobre a indicacao da cintigrafia ossea em cancerologia, visando caracterizar a validade do metodo na pesquisa de metastases osseas: estudar a distribuicao preferencial das metastases em relacao aos tipos de tumor que lhes deram origem e correlacionar o numero de casos estudados com a clinica de dor ossea e o resultado da cintigrafia.
