The peculiarities of electroreduction of the oxygen-containing anions of halogens depending on the halogen position in Periodic table

Description

The analysis of the experimental material on the electroreduction of the O-anions of halogens (x) shows a connection between the reducibility of the latters and the halogen position in Periodic system. The ability for reduction of XO3- and XO4- anions increases in the following sequence: ClO3- < BrO3- < IO3- and ClO4- < BrO4- ≤ IO4-. LaCl3 additions have not to exercise noticeable accelerating influence on the processes of electroreduction of IO3- anions
