Siliconizing and impregnation of silicon layers on molybdenum

Description

The problem of siliconizing molybdenum electrodes in silicon powder and of impregnation the siliconized layer with tin-aluminium alloy for protecting the electrodes against oxidation was discussed. The results of forming MoSi2 layers and impregnating with Al-Sn alloy in one technological operation, which consisted in annealing of molybdenum rods in liquid Al-Sn-Si alloy were presented.
