Description
Method of Auger spectroscopy is used to study kinetics of Ni segregation on low-index faces of Fe-36 at. % Ni alloy crystal, irradiated with Ar+ ions (5 keV, at a dose of 1017 cm-2), during the alloy exposure to O2 at 20-300 deg C. It is stated that segregation rate depends on crystal temperature and orientation. Coefficients of Ni diffusion in irradiated alloy, which for (110) and (111) faces obey Arrhenius equation and by 3-4 orders exceed the boundary diffusion coefficient at 20 deg C, are determined. Segregation mechanism and causes of diffusion coefficient anisotropy are discussed
