Lower hybrid current drive model and its comparison with experiments

Description
A simple analytical model for evaluating the lower hybrid current drive efficiency in the presence of a DC electric field is developed and its result are compared with the experimental data from the ASDEX tokamak. The model is on the basis of an analytical solution of the 'adjoint equation' to the Fokker Planck equation and considers the finite spread of the rf wave spectrum. The dependency of current drive efficiency on the DC electric field predicted by the model agrees well with that of the experiment within the experimental error. (author)
