Description
An analysis of the gamma-therapeutic results of 130 patients with disseminated esophageal cancer is presented. Three variants of nonuniform grid irradiation have been worked out: the nonuniform irradiation alone, the nonuniform irradiation combined with open-field gamma-therapy, and concentrated nonuniform irradiation. The following criteria have been used to evaluate the possibilities of technique given and their therapeutic results: a) the number of patients who completed the treatment in full volume; b) the frequency of side effects; c) the life span of the patients. The advantage of different variants of nonuniform irradiation for esophageal cancer is pointed out
