Observation of (μ-e+) pairs associated with strange particles in neutrino interactions in Gargamelle
Description
The observation of events containing a (μ-e+V0) associated with strange particles carried out in the heavy liquid bubble chamber Gargamelle with a filling of freon which indicates the existence of some new phenomenon, is reported. A possible explanation is that these events arise from the production and subsequent semi-leptonic decay of some new particle, for example a charmed particle. In the charm scheme, decay of the new particles into strange particles is favoured and a possible production and decay chain is postulated. (U.K.)
