Effect of screening on the β decay of the 8B nucleus
Description
The effect of screening of the nuclear Coulomb field on the β-decay characteristics of 8B is investigated. It is shown that the screening of the 8B decay products at the center of the sun can decrease by approximately 30% the cross section for the detection of solar neutrinos
