The Chernobyl ractor accident and its radiation effects in West Germany

In response to current events, the brief article presents topical data and results of earlier studies, stating that public health is not at risk due to the radioactive contamination, nor is there a hazard to embryos or fetuses. The contamination is no reason for termination of pregnancy, or for weaning. (orig./HP)

Aufgrund vorliegender Daten besteht kein Risiko fuer die Bevoelkerung; dies gilt auch fuer Embryonen und Feten. Deshalb besteht keine Indikation fuer einen Schwangerschaftsabbruch. Ebenfalls gibt es fuer stillende Muetter keinen Grund, ihre Kinder abzustillen. (orig./HP)Additional details
