Description

An experimental program at CERN is described which is devoted to the study of nucleus-nucleus collisions at energies from 60 to 225 GeV per nucleon. The accelerator complex Linac-Booster-PS-SPS will be augmented by a new injector-preaccelerator providing 16O and probably 32S. A set of experiments will run in 1986 and 1987 to search for the quark gluon plasma. (orig.)
